Jewish history as a tool for antidiscrimination workshop for professionals:
programme for Police and Teachers in POLIN
(Museum of the History of Polish Jews – Warsaw, Poland)
Addressing the problem of growing level of hate speech and violence based on discrimination,
Museum POLIN has started in 2013 the programme of antidiscrimination trainings for professionals.
The 2-days training program proposed by the Museum addresses the need of strengthening the
professionals who meet discrimination in their work by giving them tools to effectively react to
the acts of discrimination. Examples from the past history of the Jewish minority are always the
starting point for exercises and discussions on contemporary issues of discrimination.
From 2013 we have trained nearly 300 judges, prosecutors, officers and civilian employees of
the police, and journalists. Starting in 2016, we are expanding targeted groups with teachers.
